Rosemary and Thyme
Hello Fellow Gardeners,
Of course all of you already know that I’m an avid gardener, I’m constantly looking for new books, videos, garden projects, plants, and whatnot. However when I need to relax after a hard day of digging holes and planting, I love to get cozy in my chair and watch or read a good mystery!
Well finally I found a lovely TV series that combines my two passions- gardening and mystery! Rosemary and Thyme is about two women gardeners (in the prime of their lives) who dig up and solve mysteries!
The series features amazing English countryside scenery, the odd tip n’ trick about gardening, and just a good all around who-done-it script!
Rosemary and Thyme Series One…
From Amazon.com…
“Laura Thyme, a former policewoman and garden-loving housewife, has just lost her husband to a much younger woman when she meets Rosemary Boxer, a plant biologist who has just lost her university teaching post. A suspicious death brings them together, and they combine their gardening skills and natural curiosity to dig deeper. Despite the success of their first “case,” Laura and Rosemary hope their blossoming friendship will lead to gardening commissions, not detective work. But mysteries have a habit of following them around in this appealing series that combines two British specialties: gardening and mystery.
Shot on location in stunning countryside settings…”
Rosemary and Thyme Series 2
From Amazon.com…
“When strange things happen, this pair of amateur sleuths digs in. Exotic gardens on the French Riviera and Italy’s Ligurian coast complement beautiful backdrops in London and the English countryside as Rosemary Boxer (Felicity Kendal) and Laura Thyme (Pam Ferris) take on an array of new gardening commissions. Intent only on solving puzzles of nature, they stumble upon mysterious crimes when they unearth tensions, secrets, and the occasional dead body. The second installment of this hit mystery series begins with a two-hour film followed by seven one-hour episodes. Restoring a walled garden, saving dying roses, and surviving the cutthroat world of a TV garden makeover show are among the challenges they face.
Rosemary and Thyme Series 3
From Amazon.com…
Some of the gardens the series visit this season are…
“Kew Gardens, Regent’s Park, the Andalusian village of Mijas, and a Surrey vineyard are just some of the places the enterprising pair will take you in these eight concluding episodes.”
This is a very quiet, relaxing series that is perfect for any gardener who likes a good mystery!
Enjoy!
Happy Gardening,
Marie Suzanne
