Hello Fellow Gardeners,
*Sigh* I found even more roses that of course would be perfect for my garden! I think I’m going to have to hide all my purchases from my husband in the Spring! Of course he’ll probably catch on when he sees my garden has grown…a bit!
If you would like to see some other must have roses for our zones check out my previous articles: What’s New in the Wonderful World of David Austin Roses, What’s New in the Wonderful World of Edmund’s Roses, and What’s New in the Wonderful World of Heirloom Roses Part 1!
Neither the Daily Weeder or any part of it’s team are compensated for endorsing David Austin, Heirloom Roses, or Edmund’s Roses. The comments that are shared in this and other articles are simply opinions of the writer and are expressed for the sole purpose of sharing useful information with cold climate gardeners.

The deep coral/orange of this beautiful rose makes it quite unique! It grows to 3-4 ft by 3 ft and is hardy in zones 5-10!*
This gorgeous pale yellow climber is brought to you by the Harkness Family! Highfield grows to an astounding 9-10 ft by 6-8 ft, has a strong fragrance, good disease resistance, and is hardy to zones 5-10!*
Here’s a lovely old fashioned ground cover featuring 5-petal blooms! Brought to you by Meidiland, Happy Chappy is lightly fragrant, grows to 2 ft by 3 1/2 ft, and is hardy to zones 5-10!*
This stunning old fashioned 5-petal rose features bright yellow centers and vibrant red petals! Be-Bop grows to 3 ft by 3ft, continuously blooms, has good disease resistance, and is hardy to zones 5-10!*
Brought to you by David Austin so it has to be good! This gorgeous apricot/orange repeat bloomer is a shrub rose that grows to 5-6 ft by 5 ft, has a fruity fragrance, and is hardy to zones 5-10!*
Pretty in pink, this rose bush grows to 4 ft and is hardy in zones 5-10!*
A gorgeous classic rose, Black Cherry is a continuous blooming floribunda that grows to 3 1/2 ft by 3 ft, is mildly fragrant, and is hardy to zones 5-10!*
* In my experience, roses that are hardy to zone five are okay to plant in lower zones (down to zone 3), as long as you provide them with good winter protection.
I like to plant my roses that need winter protection together, that way in the Fall I can mulch them all together in one large area rather than having to mulch each individual rose bush! It’s a great way to keep your garden organized and a real time saver!
Stay tuned to the Daily Weeder for more tips, tricks, ideas, and inspiration for cold climate gardeners!
Happy Gardening,
Marie Suzanne
