A Tour of My Garden

Hello Fellow Gardeners,

Welcome back to the Daily Weeder to our faithful friends and readers! We’ve taken a bit of a sabbatical, but just like you, we couldn’t stay away!

It’s been an incredible summer for gardening in my neck of the woods! We’ve enjoyed lots of sunshine and enough rain to make everything grow grow GROW! Right now my irises, columbines, and most of all, my roses are blooming in brilliant shades of pink, yellow, white, blue, red, and purple. It took a lot of hard work, but right now I’m enjoying the fruits of my labor! And I wanted to share it all with you, so join me if you will, for this year’s tour of my garden…

    Your gardens look beautiful!

I’m not sure if you or your readers will find this of interest but recently I’ve started scheduling my gardening tasks based on Ancient Gardening Secrets which are governed by the position of the moon.

For anyone that’s interested I’ve posted July’s schedule and I have to say that using this system has improved my results and cut the work load down.

Weeding has become easier because on the days when I should be weeding it’s like the weeds roots do not hold on, sliding easily from the ground, however, transplant or prune on these days and you’ll have problems with survival.

Just in case the website where this info is not posted the address is http://www.livingwithrheumatoidarthritis.com/Garden-schedule-July2008.html

What is the name of the bush with the pink flowers at the bottom of the page?

  4. Kellie on 04 Jul 2008 at 9:26 am

The bush in the last photos looks like it could be Hybrid Rugosa, a very hardy rose bush with fragrant flowers that bloom on and on and pretty much indestructible.

Love the picture of the bench in your garden. Guess you don’t get too much time to sit on it!
